bye bye diapers!

 

 

 

 

M (No.1) is now done with diapers!! It really feels like a miracle to me.
No matter how hard we tried, he had never successfully peed in his potty. He hold it till he got to wear his diapers again. He never wanted to do it in his potty. I often felt inpatient and frustrated that he wanted to wear his diapers even after he was 3 years old.
I really thought that he would wear his diapers in the rest of his life.

It was also financially hard for us, due to all of our 3 kids wearing diapers!!!

I asked a sister in my ward who has 4 kids how to potty train, and she told me to let them get wet all day, no matter what. She also told me not to use training underpants, after kids turned 3 years old. They needed to wear normal underpants, so they would really feel how uncomfortable it would be. She also told me 3-year-old toddlers should be done with diapers within a week or two, if I would do as she told me.

So, I decided to follow her advice. I needed to be determined and patient to do this. I needed to put up with the smell all day. I needed to do the landry a couple of times a day, because they got wet hundred times a day. But I didn't quit like normally I did many times. I had continued having my 2 boys wear their underpants all day, except during the nights, for 3 days. (it really felt much longer.)

On the 4th day, the miracle happened!

all of sudden M (No.1) was able to pee in his potty when he was 3 years and 4 months old!!!!
Once he's done it, that was pretty much it. He didn't want to wear his diapers anymore. He loved the book called "toddler's potty book", and I read the book to him while he was sitting on the potty. He liked the phrases, "dry pants feel great." and "wet pants are no fun." He definitely felt like he was a big boy!!

We still secretly change his underpants to diapers after he fell asleep at night, though.

I tried the same thing with M (No.2) who just turned 2 years old for like a week. He was able to pee in his potty for the first time several days after his big brother made it, which was very impressive to me because his big brother never made it when he was around his age. M(No.2) has not completely done with his diapers, but he can now pee in his potty sometimes. Now I have M (No.2) wear his training underpants again while he's at home. He will probably learn faster than his brother.

It really feels like a miracle. GREAT JOB BOYS!!!

Ｍ（長男）、３歳４か月でついにオムツ卒業です！！！

３歳四か月まで一度もおまるでトイレができたことなかったんで、それまでとっても悩んでました。この子はもしかしたら一生オムツなんではないかと…。

憧れの先輩ママ、Ｍ子さん（４児の母で、めちゃめちゃ美しい）にどうしたらおむつが取れるのかって相談してみたら、３歳過ぎている場合、トレーニングパンツはきかないから普通のパンツをはかしたほうがいいとのこと。さらに、とにかく垂れ流し状態で何日かほったらかしてみて、気持ち悪いことを覚えさせたら、３歳過ぎているなら１，２週間でオムツとれるよ、とのこと！ただしＭ子さんいわく、「でも、心を鬼にしなきゃだめだよ」と。

今まで、ちょっと失敗したらすぐイライラしておむつに戻していたわたしにとって、かなり必要なアドバイスであった。腹をくくって、徹底的にパンツをはかせてみよう！！と一大決心。

ついでに次男も一緒に、ふたりそろって普通のパンツを買ってきてはかせ始める！案の定、おもらしの連続。家中にただようアンモニア臭、大量の洗濯物にくじけそうになるも、アドバイスを思い出し耐える…。しかもちょうど総大会の中継をやってるときで、大量のパンツとズボンを教会に持ち込み、何回も着替えさせる…。外出の時ぐらいやめたいとかなり思ったが、ここでやめるとまた初日からやり直さねばならないと思い、２日間やりとおす。

そして、トレーニング初めて４日目、ついに奇跡が！

Ｍ（長男）がおまるに座り始めた！そしてついに…初のトイレに成功！！本人も母もうれしくて、何回もトイレトレーニングの本を読んであげたら喜んでいた。

一度できたら、あとは早かった…。もうそのままおむつが取れました。もうオムツをはきたがらなくなりました。まだ、時々失敗もありますが、とにかくオムツは卒業しました~！夜も、おむつをはきたがらないので寝てからこっそりおむつはかせてますが…。

Ｍ（次男）も、長男が成功した数日後に初めておまるでトイレに成功！長男が２歳になったばかりの頃まったくそんなことできなかったので、さすが、お兄ちゃんがいるとちがうもんだと感心。

今は、二男にはトレーニングパンツに戻して家ではそれをはかせてます。お兄ちゃんよりははやくオムツがとれるだろうと思ってます。

長女が生まれて以来、数ヶ月間３人ともオムツでかなり経済的に苦しかったけど、かなり助かるようになりました。

ほんとうに、長男をほめたいです。よくがんばった～！
